Mr Ken Johnsen
Executive Director and CEO

Mr Ken Johnsen joined the Company as Chief Executive Officer on 9 September 2005. Mr Johnsen has over 31 years experience in the development and licensing of advanced technology for the automotive industry. He has held senior management roles in both Australia and the USA with Orbital Corporation Ltd and served on the Orbital board for 13 years. Since joining Advanced Braking Technology Ltd, Mr Johnsen has lead the recapitalisation and relisting of the Company, as well as the commercialisation of the Company’s products Appointed 30 April 2007.

     
 

Ms Clare Madelin (BSc, CA)
Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary

Ms Clare Madelin is a Chartered Accountant with over 25 years business and accounting experience. She joined the company in 2011 after a number of similar roles across a range of industries. She has a physics degree and has worked previously in industrial R&D.

     
 

Mr Sam Leighton
General Manager

Mr Sam Leighton has worked extensively in the automotive industry in a range of engineering, management and business development roles. He has more than 20 years international business experience having assisted in the launch of new products in the USA, Italy and India during overseas business assignments. Sam's focus at ABT is on business growth through the right combination of marketing, customer relationships, product range, product reliability and customer services. Sam holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Western Australia.

     
   

Mr Andrew Miller
Chief Engineer

Mr Andrew Miller has been with the company for over 5 years and performed a managerial role for the last 3 years overseeing ABT’s small team of draftsmen, engineers and technicians. Mr Miller has been heavily involved in all of the recent Projects at ABT including the successful SIBS brakes for Toyota Landcruiser and Hilux light commercial vehicles and major customer specific Projects for overseas clients. In addition Mr Miller has taken an instrumental role in the development of SIBS technology to improve the performance of the SIBS product range using ABT’s brake dynamometers. In his role as Engineering Manager Mr Miller oversaw the successful certification of ABT’s engineering department to ISO 9001. Prior to joining Advanced Braking, Mr. Miller was involved in fundamental research into crack propagation in steels at the University of Western Australia. During this time he also performed consulting services for several large resource companies providing expertise in the field of failure analysis and fracture mechanics.
