SIBS incorporates Spring Applied Hydraulically Released devices that apply the brakes upon failure of the actuation system. This ensures the application is brought to a controlled stop in the event of system failure.

The SIBS 3-in-1 brake is unique to the light commercial vehicle market. It incorporates conventional braking with a failsafe brake. The design further utilises the Electronically Modulated Mechanically Applied device as a park brake, hence the three aspects of service, failsafe and park braking are incorporated into one brake.
